QUESTIONS:
Do women in Spain have more state aid?
How much inequality is there in developed countries like Spain?
How much discrimination is there against people who think differently?
Spanish culture has been marked in its history by a strong conservative nationalist spirit, this what generated was a “macho” society in 1940 under the dictatorship of Francisco Franco, after his death Spain retakes a rule of law focused on justice of gender and gender equality, progressively eliminating any “macho” behavior, creating its own ministry of women and having a law focused on diversity and gender, this allowed to break the gender stereotypes progressively.
In Colombia, its history is marked by violence, that is why a debate hasn't arisen to help women and men who suffer from stereotypes or violence. In Colombian society there hasn't been a state that is aware of different people, there has only been a conservatism until today.
Discrimination on the basis of gender is a reality in all countries that has arisen based on the stereotypes established by society for a long time, but in this case we will speak specifically of Colombia and Spain, two countries with different cultures and characteristics. But with a common problem, and that is that they are societies where machismo and differentiated treatment of women predominate, for example, in Spain issues such as pension contributions, the wage gap, domestic work and even business leadership, show existing gender inequality. On the other hand, Colombia, like Spain, presents similar conditions in relation to the segregation barriers for women when it comes to obtaining employment, the low participation of women in the functions of political power, among others.
An interesting gender stereotype comparison to read! I look forwars to the next post! - Paul
